Innovation & Leadership

Boreal Fire is not just a service company—we are pioneers in the future of fire and life safety.

Our CEO, Jed Groenenboom, was recognized nationally with a BOMA Entrepreneur of the Year award (2022) for his leadership and commitment to raising industry standards. Jed is also an active voice in the industry through BOMA  where he shares insights on high-rise fire pump and standpipe system failures, testing protocols, and NFPA compliance. Our inspection process starts with technicians taking full accountability for inspections from start to finish. This includes reviewing and completing reports, ensuring your systems are properly understood and issues are not overlooked.

Our Promise

We built Boreal Fire from the ground up without outside funding or partners, just hard work, high standards, and relentless commitment to doing the right thing. That independence allows us to stay true to our values:

  • Client-first accountability – we treat your building as if our own families worked inside.
  • Technical integrity – no shortcuts, no corner-cutting, only solutions that meet or exceed code.
  • Long-term partnership – our role doesn’t end at inspection; we help you plan, budget, and prepare for the future.

Our mission is simple: to protect lives, safeguard property, and deliver peace of mind.

Jed Groenenboom

Founder, Boreal Fire Protection

Jed Groenenboom is the Founder and CEO of Boreal Fire Protection Inc., one of Alberta’s fastest-growing fire and life safety companies. A recognized leader in the industry, Jed has built Boreal Fire from the ground up into a trusted partner for major clients across commercial real estate, healthcare, transportation, and retail.

Entrepreneurial Journey
